Rishi Tea Ginger Organic Turmeric
A message from Mom Mom

Here in colonial Coventry, Pennsylvania, I’ve come to cherish a cup that not only warms the hands but soothes the soul—and Rishi Tea’s Ginger Organic Turmeric does precisely that. Each blend marries spicy ginger root with earthy turmeric and a kiss of black pepper, crafting a golden infusion that whispers of ancient remedies and sunny fields. Steeping a bag in boiling water releases a fragrant warmth that settles into the heart, perfect for chilly mornings or when you need a bright lift.

To echo the tea’s golden glow and gentle spice, I’ve baked a Golden Turmeric Ginger Loaf Cake—tender, moist, and threaded with warm spices, it’s the perfect companion to your steaming mug.

Golden Turmeric Ginger Loaf Cake

Ingredients

  • 1¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper (optional, for warmth)
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk or plain yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan, tapping out excess flour.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper.
  3. Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. Add Eggs & Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Combine: With the mixer on low, add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with the milk (or yogurt) in two parts, beginning and ending with the dry mix. Mix just until combined.
  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil for the last 10 minutes.
  7. Cool & Serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve alongside your Rishi Tea Ginger Turmeric cup for a golden moment of bliss.

May this Golden Turmeric Ginger Loaf Cake and a warm mug of Rishi Tea bring health, comfort, and a sprinkle of sunshine to your day—just as they do to mine.
